Bon Dia de Mozambique

Hey all!
We finally made it to Africa! Well a week and a half ago! Today was the first chance we have gotten to access the internet that is why it has taken so long.
Our Safari was so fun and only 10 hours long ;) It was in Kruger National Park, which aparently is as big as Israel. We saw LOTS of elephants, impalas, hippos, birds, giraffes, zebras, kudu, water buck, buffalo, babboons, and of course the well known LION! We sang the lion king all day long!

We have been having a lot of fun here in Mozambique at the Machava Center! It's about 20 minutes from downtown Maputo(the capitol of Moz).
Our week schedule is full of fun activities such as teaching Arts and Crafts on Mondays and Fridays, Prayer Walk on Tuesday Thursdays, Church and Chapel on Wednesdays, Womens Bible Study on Thursdays, and Youth Group on Saturdays, Church on Sundays and playing with kids in between plus some odd jobs such as helping with laundry or kitchen or painting walls.

Today we had our first "day off" and we took an adventure to the city of Maputo and did "bargain" shopping at the market. We had lunch at Mimmos an italian restaraunt in the mall that aparently is not supposed to do business with americans...we may have been the acception. We touched the Indian Ocean and grabbed some sea shells to prove it, along with seeing some interestings sights as well.

Our favorite meals are beans and rice and chicken, rice and cucumber, and green beans and rice and of course POTATOS!!
Our least favorite are the fish peanut sauce, the sardine laced anything...and anything that has the word fish and oh wait...you can't assume anything in africa is the way it is in america...so let's just say spaghetti is not your average american/italian meal....it smells fishy.

The kids here are awesome, we have taught them many things and they have done the same!! Although language has been a barrier we have learned that showing Christ's love is not just through words but through action. So hugs and holding hands and just a simple back rub or a smile have been our expression of God's love.

Tuto Bon (everything is good),
Team Mozambique

PS. 12 more days until we are back in America.
